What to Write in a Thanksgiving Card (Messages for Everyone)

The best Thanksgiving card message is short and specific. Use this simple formula: name the person + one thing you're thankful for about them + a warm wish. "Grandma, I'm thankful for every Sunday dinner at your house. Happy Thanksgiving!" is all it takes.

For family

• "So thankful we get to share this table again. Love you all."
• "Mom and Dad, thank you for always making room for one more at dinner."
• "Grateful for you, today and every day. Happy Thanksgiving!"

For friends

• "Thankful for a friend who feels like family."
• "Happy Friendsgiving! You make every year better."
• "Grateful for you, our inside jokes, and whoever is bringing pie."

For someone far away or going through a hard time

• "Thinking of you this Thanksgiving and saving you a seat at the table in spirit."
• "We miss you and are thankful for you. Sending love across the miles."
• "Holidays can be hard. Just know you're in our thoughts today."

For coworkers and teachers

• "Thankful to work with you. Enjoy the long weekend!"
• "Thank you for everything you do for our kids. Happy Thanksgiving!"

Funny lines

• "Gobble 'til you wobble!"
• "Thankful for you and stretchy pants."
• "Let's give thanks and then a nap."
