Funny Thanksgiving Cards: Turkey Puns Everyone at the Table Will Get

Thanksgiving cards don't have to be solemn. A little humor fits the holiday perfectly: it is, after all, a day built around eating far too much pie. A light pun on the front lets the inside carry the heartfelt part, so the card makes someone laugh and feel appreciated at the same time.

What makes a Thanksgiving card funny (but not awkward)

• Food jokes are universal. Everyone relates to the post-dinner food coma, so "Gobble 'Til You Wobble" lands with grandparents and teenagers alike.
• Puns beat sarcasm. Family gatherings already have enough tension. A groan-worthy pun is safe for every relative.
• Pair the joke with real thanks. One sincere line inside ("So thankful we get to do this together again") keeps the card from feeling like a throwaway.

Funny lines to write inside

• "Let's talk turkey: I'm really glad you're in my life."
• "Eat, drink and loosen your belt. Happy Thanksgiving!"
• "Thankful for you, and for elastic waistbands."
• "May your turkey be juicy and your relatives be on time."
• "I'd share my last slice of pie with you. Probably."
