Christmas Cards for Dog Lovers, Cat Lovers and Animal People

Every family has one: the friend whose phone is all dog photos, or the aunt who signs cards from herself and three cats. A pet-pun Christmas card is an easy win for them, and it's one of the few card styles almost nobody finds cheesy.

Picking the right pet card

• Match the animal. It sounds obvious, but a dog person really does notice when they get a cat card.
• Sign it from your pet. "Love, Biscuit (and Sam)" is a small joke that lands every time.
• Think beyond dogs and cats. Farm-animal puns are great for friends with chickens, horses or a hobby farm.

Fun ways to use a pet card

• Tuck one in with a gift for a dog walker, groomer or pet sitter.
• Send one to your vet clinic's front desk; the staff often pin cards to the wall.
• Print an extra and frame it as small seasonal decor; a 5x7 fits standard frames.
